About Carrie Fernow

Carrie is a highly skilled professional hair stylist and makeup artist with more than 25 years of experience in the beauty and entertainment industries. She began her career in New York City at just 17 years old, quickly discovering her passion for creating elevated, camera‑ready beauty and building a reputation for her calm presence, technical mastery, and editorial eye.

Over the past decade, Carrie has worked extensively throughout NYC, developing an impressive portfolio across fashion, television, film, music, and live events. She has styled for numerous New York Fashion Weeks as part of Redken’s Editorial Team and has served as a personal stylist for celebrities, First Ladies, musicians, and high‑profile clients. Her work spans commercials, advertising campaigns, episodic and live television, music tours, book tours, and press appearances.

Carrie’s artistry and leadership earned her Emmy Award nominations in 2012 and 2014 for Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling during her time as Hair Department Head for The Rachael Ray Show. Most recently, she spent two years on tour with The Eagles as the lead hair and makeup artist for their Hotel California Tour.

She is also a proud Journeyman member of IATSE Local 798 Hair & Makeup Union.

After years of traveling for work, Carrie returned to her roots in Minnesota, where she now resides with her daughter. They enjoy lake days, wake surfing, mountain biking, and spending time with family.

Since returning to Minnesota, Carrie has expanded her portfolio into film, serving as:

Carrie is also the owner of Destination Beauty by Carrie, a luxury on‑location hair and makeup company specializing in weddings and events. Her signature approach blends calm, joyful energy with elevated, timeless beauty—ensuring every client feels confident, radiant, and fully supported from the moment they sit in her chair.
